Mel has created several high quality sculptures. Ranging from ornamental to political, these sculptures are beautiful and haunting, and often challenge the observer. In this showcase we will take a look at some of Mels sculptures.

Piston Rose

This rose was created from recycled automotive parts. The base was a piston, and the stalk is made of entwined blunted barbed wire. The peice is about regeneration and beauty, and the struggle of nature. This was created in 2004, and was exhibited in the Burton Art Gallery.

Hendrix Exterior

This is a modified acoustic guitar with a aged wood exterior, and a fierce political statement within. The guitar contains a suspended mutilated barbie doll, with a condom stomache full of pills, suspended by windable shackles. The scene is surrounded in satirical clippings and bible references. Created in 2007.
